Protesters block Drumcree parade approved for first time since 1998

Hundreds of nationalist protesters blocked Garvaghy Road in Portadown on 27 September, stopping an Orange Order Drumcree parade approved by the Parades Commission for the first time since 1998. Marchers waited in Drumcree Church while police warned protesters of arrest. The crowd largely dispersed early 28 September ahead of talks with officials.
