Labour promises 10% student loan write-off if elected

Labour leader Chris Hipkins promised to write off 10% of eligible student loan balances if Labour is elected, at the party's Auckland campaign launch on 27 September. The NZ Herald reported the policy would cost $583 million over four years. Hipkins also promised plenty more fire in the campaign, according to RNZ.
