Labour promises 10% cut to student loans if elected

Labour leader Chris Hipkins promised to wipe 10% off eligible student loan balances if Labour wins the election. He made the promise at the party's campaign launch in Auckland on 27 September. The NZ Herald put the cost at $583 million over four years. Hipkins said there would be more fire in the campaign, RNZ reported.
