South Africa warns US is planning sanctions on the ICC itself

South Africa's Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola warned on September 25, 2026, at a Hague Group event during the UN General Assembly that the US is planning sanctions against the ICC itself after sanctioning judges and prosecutors. He said an institutional measure could fundamentally disrupt operations of the Hague-based court.
