Jackson says Supreme Court emergency docket erodes public trust

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said the Supreme Court's expanding emergency docket undermines public faith, in a Sept. 25 speech at the University of the District of Columbia law school. She called modern stay practices disruptive and potentially corrosive and warned of an end-run around normal review. Her remarks followed a new Trump administration emergency request on third-country deportations.
