Education Ministry whistleblowers say staff verbally ordered to delete 'Aotearoa'

Multiple Education Ministry staff told RNZ managers verbally instructed them to delete 'Aotearoa' and other Māori words from official documents and refused to put the orders in writing when challenged. The ministry said 'Aotearoa' was omitted to keep terminology consistent with 'The New Zealand Curriculum' and refused to explain why the instructions were not put in writing.
