Abbas addressed UN General Assembly by video after U.S. visa denial

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the General Assembly's 81st-session general debate on 24 September 2026 via pre-recorded video shown in the hall. He said his delegation was denied visas. France 24 reported Sept. 24 the United States denied Abbas a visa. The UN has authorized video participation for Palestinian officials for the coming year.
