Stevens proposes full Social Security at 60 for blue-collar workers

Rep. Haley Stevens announced Sept. 24 the Blue Collar Social Security Fairness Act, which would let workers in physically demanding jobs claim full Social Security retirement benefits at 60. It is a proposal, not current law. Retirement benefits now start at 62, with full retirement at 67 for those born in 1960 or later.
