New Zealand agrees $23.7m for US-built military satellite

RNZ reported New Zealand has agreed to put $23.7m over two years into the US-built WGS-12 military communications satellite, due to launch in 2028 at the earliest. According to RNZ, NZ is one of 10 partners in the Pentagon network costing over $500m. The Defence Force says the funding secures the military communications capacity it needs.
