Officer wounded, suspect dead after shooting outside Belleville synagogue

Gunfire outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville, Ont., during Yom Kippur services left Const. Jeff Smith wounded in hospital and suspected gunman Sean Ward, 29, dead. Police say Ward shot at Smith, stationed outside the synagogue, then at a second officer. Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is investigating.
