Four dead in overnight Bootle house fire

Four people died in a fire at a semi-detached house in Bootle, Merseyside, in the early hours of 22 September 2026. Crews called at 3:38am found the property well alight. Eight firefighters searched inside and found four people with no signs of life. Fire and police will jointly investigate the cause.
