10-year Treasury yield breaks above 5.1%
The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield climbed past 5.1% on Sept. 23, 2026, the WSJ reported, as investors sold government bonds. That yield — the interest the U.S. pays to borrow for 10 years — helps set mortgages and other loans. Higher yields can mean pricier borrowing and strain for stocks. The speed of the rise is what worries me.
