UK orders review of Hague child-return cases involving domestic abuse

The UK government has tasked its Ministry of Justice private international family law team to review all 2024-2025 High Court cases under the 1980 Hague Convention, which requires swift return of children taken abroad. The aim is to better support domestic abuse survivors resisting partner demands for return. About 500 such applications are filed yearly in England and Wales.
