UK to review Hague child-return cases tied to domestic abuse

Britain’s Ministry of Justice private international family law team will review all 2024-2025 High Court cases under the 1980 Hague Convention, the treaty requiring swift return of children taken abroad. The aim is stronger support for domestic abuse survivors opposing a partner’s return demand. About 500 such applications are filed yearly in England and Wales.
