Category 3 Hurricane Lowell Takes Aim at Hawaii as State of Emergency Declared

Hurricane Lowell, a Category 3 storm with 125 mph winds, is tracking toward Hawaii's western islands of Kauai and Ni'ihau. Governor Josh Green declared a statewide emergency and activated the National Guard. Lowell is forecast to pass near Kauai as a Category 2 between Monday evening and Tuesday morning. A tropical storm warning is in effect for both islands. This is Hawaii's third storm in under a month.
