
Greens propose $6b KiwiMart plan to take 120 supermarkets into public ownership
The Green Party wants new legislation forcing Foodstuffs and Woolworths to sell 120 stores and two distribution centres into public ownership for $6 billion. Co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick said buying existing stores is central to breaking the supermarket duopoly. The plan sits within the party's broader "Affordable Kai" policy package.
