News should inform, not overwhelm
Brief began with a simple frustration: staying informed has become exhausting. Endless feeds, push notifications, headlines designed to be clicked rather than read — most news apps are built to hold your attention, not to respect it.
Our Mission
Everyone deserves clear, factual news — in their language, at the depth that suits them. Brief gathers reporting from trusted sources around the world and presents it as a single daily digest you can actually finish.
How We're Different
You Control the Depth
Not every story deserves the same minutes from you. Each Brief comes in three depths — Quick (30 seconds), Standard (two minutes), and Deep (five minutes). A passing interest gets the headline; a real one gets the full picture.
Your Language, Your Way
News shouldn't depend on which language you read. Brief treats every supported language as a first-class citizen — adapted for clarity and natural reading, not pasted through a translator. A software engineer in São Paulo, a designer in Jakarta, and a student in Cairo deserve the same quality of reporting as a reader in San Francisco.
Respect for Your Attention
One digest a day, delivered when you want it. Breaking news is optional, and off by default. We don't reward endless scrolling — we reward being informed and getting on with your day.
Our Values
- Accuracy first.Every fact is cross-referenced across multiple trusted sources. We'd rather be slow than wrong.
- Transparency. Every summary links back to the journalism that informed it. Our job is to help you reach great reporting, not replace it.
- No ads, no tracking. We don't sell your attention. The business model is straightforward: you pay for a product that respects you.
- Always learning. Reporting is a craft, not a checklist. We refine our sources, language adaptation, and the way summaries read based on what we hear from readers.
The Team
Brief is a small team of journalists, engineers, and designers spread across several time zones. We're united by one belief: technology should make information more accessible, not more overwhelming.
