President Trump endorsed Mike Lindell for Minnesota governor on July 15, 2026, bypassing Kendall Qualls, a former Army special forces veteran the state Republican Party backed at its May convention. The Aug. 11 primary will decide the Republican nominee to replace Gov. Tim Walz, who is not seeking a third term. Trump has never won Minnesota.
