Trump Backs Lindell for Minnesota Governor Over State GOP's Own Endorsed Candidate

President Trump endorsed Mike Lindell for Minnesota governor on July 15, 2026, bypassing Kendall Qualls, whom the Minnesota Republican Party endorsed at its May convention. Qualls is a former Army special forces veteran. The August 11 primary will decide which Republican faces a Democrat to replace Gov. Tim Walz, who is not seeking a third term. Trump has never won Minnesota.
