
Trump Picks Lindell for Minnesota Governor Over Party's Choice
President Trump endorsed Mike Lindell for Minnesota governor on July 15, 2026, passing over Kendall Qualls, a former Army special forces veteran. Minnesota Republicans had chosen Qualls at their May convention. The Aug. 11 primary vote will decide which Republican runs to replace Gov. Tim Walz, who is not seeking a third term. Trump has never won Minnesota.
