Victorian Liberals pledge weekly rubbish collections statewide

Victorian Liberal leader Jess Wilson promised to restore weekly rubbish collections statewide if her party wins November's election, overriding 33 councils now collecting bins fortnightly. Wilson called the fortnightly schedule in her own Boroondara area "disgusting." She pledged to apply the state's rate cap — a legal limit on local council charges — to waste costs so households pay no more.
