Victoria's Liberal leader pledges statewide return to weekly rubbish collections
Victorian Liberal leader Jess Wilson has pledged to mandate weekly general rubbish collections across the state if the Liberals win November's election, overriding 33 councils that have shifted to fortnightly collection. Wilson called the fortnightly system in her own Boroondara area "disgusting." She vowed to apply the state's rate cap to waste charges so households would not pay more.
