Carney on vacation in Italy as Aug. 19 U.S. tariff deadline approaches
Prime Minister Mark Carney is on a personal vacation in Italy from Aug. 10 to 17 on a reduced schedule. His office says he remains in close contact with officials on Canada-U.S. trade talks before a threatened 50-per-cent U.S. tariff on Canadian goods takes effect Aug. 19. The trip was cleared through ethics consultation.
