Carney takes Italy vacation ahead of U.S. tariff deadline

Prime Minister Mark Carney is on vacation in Italy from Aug. 10 to 17, working a reduced schedule. The U.S. has threatened to impose a 50-per-cent tax on Canadian goods starting Aug. 19. Carney's office says he is staying in close contact with officials on trade talks and that the trip passed ethics review.
