AIS tracking data showed Zuckerberg's 387-foot superyacht Launchpad was closest to a fuel-exhausted skiff near Farragut Bay, Alaska, on August 8, 2026. It did not assist. A spokesperson said the family wasn't aboard and the crew missed the Coast Guard's marine assistance broadcast — heard on a different radio channel after rescue was underway. The cruise ship Wilderness Legacy towed and refueled the skiff.
