Zuckerberg's superyacht stood by as cruise ship rescued stranded skiff in Alaska

AIS data reviewed by the Alaska Beacon and Halifax Shipping News showed Mark Zuckerberg's 387-foot, $300 million superyacht Launchpad was the closest vessel to a fuel-exhausted skiff near Farragut Bay, Alaska, on August 8, 2026. The Launchpad did not assist. A spokesperson said Zuckerberg's family was not aboard and the crew learned of the Coast Guard's marine assistance broadcast on a different radio channel after the rescue was already underway. The cruise ship Wilderness Legacy towed the skiff to safety and refueled it.
