Montana Democrat Faces Aug. 10 Ballot Withdrawal Deadline as Party Pushes to Clear Field

Montana Democratic Senate candidate Alani Bankhead faces an Aug. 10 deadline to withdraw from the ballot. Party figures and outside groups want her out to clear the field for independent Seth Bodnar. Montana Free Press reported Aug. 6 that Bankhead planned to drop out, reversing her Aug. 1 statement. Bodnar said Aug. 7 he will not exit.
