Montana Democratic Senate candidate Alani Bankhead faces an Aug. 10 deadline to withdraw from the ballot, with party figures and outside groups pressuring her to clear the field for independent Seth Bodnar. Montana Free Press reported Aug. 6 that Bankhead planned to drop out — a reversal from her Aug. 1 statement that she had no plans to withdraw. Bodnar said Aug. 7 he will not exit.
