Montana Senate Candidate Faces Deadline to Quit Race So Independent Can Run Alone

Montana Democratic Senate candidate Alani Bankhead has until Aug. 10 to remove her name from the ballot. Party leaders and outside groups want her to quit so independent Seth Bodnar can run without a Democrat splitting votes. Montana Free Press reported Aug. 6 Bankhead planned to drop out, reversing her Aug. 1 stance. Bodnar said Aug. 7 he will stay in.
