Wellington city councillor Tony Randle dies suddenly

Wellington city councillor Tony Randle, who represented the Takapū/Northern Ward, has died suddenly. First elected in 2022 and re-elected in 2025, he served on the Wellington Regional Transport Committee. Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop called him "a lovely man who was passionate about Wellington." Council chief executive Matt Prosser said he was a strong advocate for his community.
