Wellington city councillor Tony Randle has died

Wellington city councillor Tony Randle has died suddenly. He represented the Takapū/Northern Ward — the northern suburbs — and was first elected in 2022, then re-elected in 2025. He sat on the regional transport committee. Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop called him "a lovely man who was passionate about Wellington." Council chief executive Matt Prosser said he was a strong advocate for his community.
