Wellington city councillor Tony Randle dies suddenly

Wellington city councillor Tony Randle has died suddenly. Randle represented the Takapū/Northern Ward, was first elected in 2022 and re-elected in 2025, and served on the Wellington Regional Transport Committee. Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop described him as "a lovely man who was passionate about Wellington." Council chief executive Matt Prosser called him a strong advocate for his community.
