Texas Reserve Officer Arrested in Mexico on Femicide and Homicide Charges
Chad Eberle, a 35-year-old reserve officer from Santa Anna, Texas, was arrested August 4 at a Piedras Negras border crossing. Mexican authorities say he killed three people and critically wounded his son's mother during a custody dispute in Saltillo, Coahuila. He faces femicide — a gender-driven killing charge — and qualified homicide, with up to five total charges possible. His son was unharmed and placed in state care.
