Former US Marine Detained in Russia Falls Unresponsive Amid Torture Claims
Robert Gilman, a 32-year-old former US Marine held in Russia since 2022, has been unresponsive in a dissociative stupor — a state of near-total mental detachment — for 47 days, his advocate Eric Lebson reports. Advocacy groups say alleged torture and forced drug injections in custody have brought him near death. Russian authorities have not publicly addressed the claims.
