Israel Files First Settler Indictment Amid 1,500 Palestinian Deaths This Decade

Israeli prosecutors charged Yinon Levy — a settler already sanctioned by the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia — with reckless manslaughter for shooting Palestinian activist Awdeh Hathaleen in the West Bank. This is the first indictment tied to any of the 1,500-plus Palestinian deaths by settlers and soldiers this decade. Levy had been freed from house arrest and continued building unauthorized outposts before the July killing.
