Israel Charges a West Bank Settler in a Killing — a First for This Decade

Israeli prosecutors charged Yinon Levy with killing Palestinian activist Awdeh Hathaleen in the West Bank. Levy, a settler already punished by the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, had been under house arrest but was freed and kept building illegal settlements before the July shooting. Of over 1,500 Palestinian deaths by settlers and soldiers this decade, this is the first to result in formal charges.
