UK Illegal Working Arrests Top 17,000 Since July 2024 Election

Since the July 2024 general election, the UK Home Office arrested over 17,000 people for illegal working — more than double the prior two-year period. Deportations rose 50%, reaching 2,357. Border Security Minister Anna Turley called arrest levels the highest in British history. Roughly six in seven arrested have not been removed.
