UK Arrests Over 17,000 People for Working Without Permission

Since the July 2024 election, the UK arrested over 17,000 people for working without legal permission — more than double the previous two years. Of those, 2,357 were sent out of the country, a 50% increase. Border Security Minister Anna Turley called the arrests the highest in British history. About six in seven arrested remain in the UK.
