UK Arrests 17,000 for Illegal Working Since July 2024, Deportations Up 50%

UK Home Office figures show more than 17,000 people arrested for illegal working since the July 2024 general election — more than double the previous two-year period. Of those, 2,357 were deported, a 50% increase. Border Security Minister Anna Turley called the arrest levels "the highest levels in British history." Roughly six in seven arrested have not been removed.
