Taiwan's President Lai Joins Live-Fire Evacuation Drill Amid Han Kuang Exercises

President William Lai rode an armoured vehicle to a command centre during a midnight evacuation rehearsal on August 6, part of Taiwan's annual Han Kuang exercises (August 5–14). The drills simulate a Chinese blockade, a major earthquake, and a full-scale invasion. Lai's direct participation placed the head of state inside the operational rehearsal rather than observing from a distance.
