Toronto Police: Consulate Shooters Were Paid Contractors Recruited via Encrypted Apps
Toronto police arrested a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old for the July 27 shooting at the US Consulate — the second there in five months. They were called "criminals for hire" recruited through encrypted messaging apps and paid to fire on diplomatic, Jewish, and other targets across Canada. The RCMP, Canada's federal police, is running a parallel national security investigation.
