Toronto Police: Consulate Shooters Were Hired Through Secret Messaging Apps

Toronto police arrested a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old for the July 27 shooting at the US Consulate — the second there in five months. They were called "criminals for hire" recruited through encrypted (hard-to-track) messaging apps and paid to fire on diplomatic, Jewish, and other targets across Canada. The RCMP, Canada's federal police, is running a separate national security investigation.
