Park Service: Proposed 250-Foot Arch Would Harm 37 Historic Sites

A National Park Service review found that a proposed 250-foot arch near the National Mall would adversely affect 37 historic properties. The assessment, required under the National Historic Preservation Act, says the structure would block the sightline between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington House. Vietnam War veterans have sued to stop construction.
