California Teamsters Sue to Block Autonomous Truck Regulations

The California Teamsters sued the DMV and other state agencies to block April 2026 rules allowing autonomous trucks on California roads. The union says the DMV skipped a required economic study and used an abbreviated rulemaking process. California previously banned large self-driving vehicles. The DMV and Governor Newsom's office declined to comment.
