Truckers' Union Sues California to Stop Driverless Trucks

The California Teamsters union sued the DMV to block April 2026 rules allowing driverless trucks on state roads. The union says the DMV skipped a required economic study and rushed the rulemaking. California had previously barred large driverless vehicles. The DMV and Governor Newsom's office declined to comment.
