Bombay High Court Convicts Ex-Tehelka Editor Tarun Tejpal of Rape, 10-Year Sentence

The Bombay High Court convicted Tarun Tejpal, founder of investigative magazine Tehelka, of raping a junior colleague at a Goa hotel in 2013. Overturning a 2021 acquittal by a lower court, it sentenced him to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment. Tejpal has two weeks to surrender and plans to appeal to India's Supreme Court.
