Bombay High Court Convicts Former Tehelka Editor Tarun Tejpal of Rape, Sentences Him to 10 Years

The Bombay High Court convicted Tarun Tejpal, founder of investigative magazine Tehelka, of raping a junior colleague at a Goa hotel event in November 2013. The court overturned his 2021 acquittal by a Goa sessions court, sentencing him to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment. Tejpal was given two weeks to surrender and has vowed to appeal to India's Supreme Court.
