Nintendo profit nearly doubles forecasts on tariff refunds

Nintendo's quarterly profit surged 53.5% to ¥147.4bn, nearly double analyst forecasts of ¥77.8bn. The US Supreme Court ruled Trump's 'Liberation Day' tariffs — taxes on imported goods — illegal, and the government refunded $100bn of the $165bn collected. Revenue fell 10% to ¥517.8bn. Nintendo is suing for a full refund, while facing a consumer class action over tariff-era price hikes.
