Nintendo's quarterly profit nearly doubles forecasts thanks to tariff refunds
Nintendo's quarterly profit surged 53.5% to ¥147.4bn, nearly doubling analyst forecasts of ¥77.8bn, driven by refunds after the US Supreme Court ruled Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs illegal. The administration refunded $100bn of the $165bn collected. Revenue fell 10% to ¥517.8bn. Nintendo is separately suing for a full refund, while facing a consumer class action over tariff-era price hikes.
