Nintendo profits soar after court scraps Trump-era tariffs
Nintendo made far more money than expected last quarter — ¥147.4bn in profit, nearly double the ¥77.8bn experts predicted. The boost came after the US Supreme Court said Trump's taxes on imported goods were unlawful, and the government refunded $100bn of the $165bn it had collected. Sales dropped 10% to ¥517.8bn. Nintendo wants a full refund; meanwhile, customers are suing over price hikes.
